School of Jewellery Ambient Special - 26th July 2025

 


As part of the Jewellery Quarter Festival, the School of Jewellery was open to the public as a kind of "heritage hub" for organisations without public-facing premises. We were invited to take over the first floor balcony overlooking the space and to provide ambient music, which we did. Unlike an ordinary EMOM event, this one was a bit more "curated" in that we didn't throw it open but invited people we knew would be suitable for the brief. 

In the end, about 400 people passed through the space during the performances and numbers of people turned up specifically to hear the music, which was great to know. 

We will definitely be doing more of these kinds of events.

 Another stellar event at the wonderful Centrala, with a fantastic and varied lineup, including some new performers. We don't play favourites, here, no matter what the writers and organisers might think personally, so here are the performers! First up and a newcomer to Birmingham EMOM is Compassion House Sounds, playing a very retro-infused set with vocal samples and 90s hard-house beats: Followed by Habbit's first performance in Birmingham, with upbeat Sci-fi soundscapes:  The next picture shows something shocking to most EMOM regulars... a bass guitar !!
